Ten-year-old Josh loves the outdoors. When asked what his wish was, Josh hoped for something that would let him spend more time outside with his family – a sensory playhouse in his backyard.
Born with cerebral palsy and legally blind, Josh wanted a playhouse that he could enjoy even with limited vision. On April 29th, Make-A-Wish teamed up with Kretschmar® and Price Chopper Food Stores to make Josh’s wish come true.
A Tuff Shed playhouse was unveiled at Josh’s surprise wish party with dozens of Josh’s family and friends in attendance to celebrate the new backyard addition. Featuring textured walls, climbing handholds, a gigantic keyboard, sensory stepping stones, a large sensory pillow, and other features designed to spark Josh’s imagination, the playhouse is exactly what Josh wished for.
“Helping grant Josh’s wish has been extremely rewarding for Kretschmar,” said Michael Sargent, brand manager for Kretschmar. “All of the hard work that we have put forth with Price Chopper and Make-A-Wish was worth it to see the smile on his face when he received his playhouse."
